By using ViewKit you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

ViewKit is a free, browser-based viewer for scientific and machine-learning data files, including HDF5, Parquet, Zarr, Arrow, CSV, Excel, JSONL, NumPy, safetensors, TFRecord, WebDataset and audio. All file parsing happens locally in your browser; we do not receive or store your files.

Acceptable use

You are responsible for the files you open and for complying with any laws or agreements that apply to your data. Do not use ViewKit to violate the rights of others, or to attempt to disrupt or overload the service.

Your data and our software

You retain all rights to the files you open; because they never leave your device, you keep full control of and responsibility for them. ViewKit, including its name, design and code as distributed, remains the property of its authors, subject to any open-source license under which parts of it are released.

Articles and reference material

The articles published on this site are provided for information only. They describe file format specifications as we understand them at the time of writing and cite their sources; they are not a substitute for the specifications themselves, and we make no warranty that they are complete or current.

Third-party services

ViewKit uses Google Analytics for usage measurement, serves advertising through Google AdSense, and is hosted on Cloudflare. Your use of these third-party services through ViewKit is also subject to their respective terms. See our Privacy Policy for details.

No warranty

ViewKit is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that parsing is error-free for every file variant. Always keep your own authoritative copies of your data.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ViewKit and its authors are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of ViewKit is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
